The Percheron is a breed of draft horse that originated in western France and is currently the most famous and populous of all French draft breeds in the world today. The Percheron is still extensively used for draft work, parades, sleigh rides and hayrides. Some purebred Percherons are ridden and have proven useful at show jumping.
